Search Tips

Guidlines for searching

EmptyString.com is a search engine for web developer's so it is limited to subjects about web development. It collects it information mainly by crawling message boards, manuals and tutorials found on the web for useful links. Our services is reseller hosting solutions for your business

The search box can accept keywords seperated by spaces or commas, for best results we recommend you type in 3-4 keywords with at least one being the computer language that you need help with and the other two being keywords related to the problem you are trying to solve. emergency dentist- Bloomsbury British Museum London WC1A.

Example Searches:

Javascript, dynamic menus

Flash layer help

In both examples we stated the language we needed help with and a couple of extra keywords.

Hint: You can use as many or as little keywords as you like but we've found that the searches are quicker with 2-4 keywords.

The current release of EmptyString.com does not support Boolean search terms so if you prefix a word with a plus or a minus, the symbol will be removed. EmptyString.com also does not yet support search terms surrounded by speech marks and these too will be removed. The reason we don't support these features is that there is not enough data to make it worthwile....Although it's VERY important to remember that 100% of our data is relavent to web design!!!

Searching for function names or words with underscores

At the moment the underscore is not recognised by EmptyString.com so for example if you are searching for information on "Session_Start", The PHP function. EmptyString.com will return no results :( To get around this problem try searching for the words "session" and "start" seperately. This feature is on the todo list to be fixed.
